Well, since I figure the next entry would be in at least two weeks' time *I'm goin' home, baby, yeah* I might as well write about something totally useless but cool -- maybe -- to know.
So, what do we know about Timbuktu? Surely all you Donal Bebek fans out there have heard of this place. This is where Unca Donald (sometimes along with his nephews or his Unca Scrooge or whoever unlucky enough to be with him at that time) runs away to whenever (once a week if your newspaper/magazine agent is reliable) he's in trouble with anything from an angry mob or an enraged mayor to simply a jealous Daisy.
I'm talking about spyware, of course. Sorry to disappoint you, but I know no real-life spies. And if I did, I wouldn't wanna know they were spies, anyway, for my own good. Besides, if I knew they were spies, that would make them bad spies. And bad spies are as good as not-spies.
Anyway. Remember my new laptop? The one with a wireless network card? The one that comes with a leather case? The one I keep reminding you of? Oh, also, the one with a DVD/CDRW drive.
Nothing much has happened in the last couple of days and I have lost interest in writing what I said I would write -- and it's actually nothing that can't be summarized by the title above. So I'll just throw some random thoughts here.
I got a new laptop. Which was quite a surprise, as my company is not one known for buying brand new laptops -- reuse whenever you can, at all cost -- for their employees. And it came with a genuine leather -- at least it smells like it -- case. And it has a wireless card -- don't all laptops these days? And the keys all work. Woohoo!!!
Yup, you read that right. Teams Dragon and Dragon Babes are the champions of the KBRI annual 17-an volleyball tournament. All right, all right, it was not as illustrious as I made it sound. Although it was a volleyball tournament. It was sanctioned by the Indonesian Embassy. It was part of our Independence Day celebration. And it was held every year. Hey, you know what, maybe... Nah, never mind.
Once a programmer always a programmer, they say.
And when a programmer is bored and has nothing better to do? He plays around with, well, just about everything and comes up with something, uh, interesting. Useless though it seems.
In case you're wondering, what I'm talking about is there on your right -- or left. Oh, sure, go ahead and help yourself, don't be shy. With our Independence Day just around the corner, I figured what the heck, might as well go patriotic. After all, people fly -- hang, in case of SG -- flags at their homes and this is my home.
Lately there have been tons of requests to our webserver for files that are not there. Here are some of them, with "sensitive" info removed:

BTW, tons is of course hyperbolic, as bytes, no matter how many of them there are, would never accumulate an ounce, let alone tons. All right, all right, just joking. Please put that 40-GB hard disk down, will ya? Hasn't this world seen enough violence already?
