"And once you've lost a sufficient amount of status and respect, none of the other bloggers link to you anymore or raise your name in their arguments. And you're over. The great correcting mechanism for people on the Web is people on the Web."
-- Peggy Noonan on how the blogosphere is not exactly the Wild Wild West, which has no rules
"Seriously, if you bought tickets to a U2 concert and Bono came out with nine buddies from Dublin who proceeded to ruin every song, wouldn't you ask for your money back? I don't get it."
-- Bill Simmons on watching Nelly performing under constant screaming of his 10-strong posse

Just another Saturday afternoon in Orchard. And it looked a good one for a glass of Starbucks' frappuccino.
A girl approached me with some kind of writing pad in hand and a smile. Which -- in Orchard -- was never good.
"Hi. Can I have a minute of your time?" Told you it was never good. Of course you can't.
"Sure," heard myself say in spite of me. The girl brightened.
"Great. You see, sir, we are from..." Oh, shoot! I forgot to top up my EZ Link card.
Dude! I just realized how bad this site looked with Palatino font! All along it was shown on my puter in Georgia font, which I thought was Palatino. By mere chances, recently I copied the whole Windows Fonts folder from a colleague. Turned out that -- now I know -- Palatino was one of the fonts copied over. And that I had never had Palatino on my puter prior to that.
So much for calling myself a webmaster.
(Note: if that above confused you, then never mind, it wasn't meant to be.)
The rest of this entry is to be dedicated to one Mr. Roy Suryo. To whom, I just found out, a lot of blogs dedicate this Valentine's. Because it is never wrong to show someone how much you care.
Well, there you go. Five-and-a-half days of doin' nuttin' and now it's all down to this. The final hour of the last (!) day. And no more public holidays until almost April. That's life in this country.
And it was just our luck, our guest lead-guitarist had outdrunk himself and couldn't wake up for our jamming this afternoon. Part of being a musician, I guess.
Reggie Miller and Mailman have called it a career. And with that gone have all the NBA faces I first associated the league with. (Wait. I think Kevin Willis is still playing. Yup, I'm right.) It's not the case anymore, but back in the day it was like: Bulls? Jordan. Lakers? Magic. Celtics? Bird. Sixers? Barkley. Hawks? 'Nique. Pacers? Reggie Miller. Jazz? Karl Malone (and John Stockton -- because you just can't mention one without the other). Thanx for the good basketball, guys.
So here's for a good working week ahead. And a few more. Until Mar 25.

I've said this many times. I'll say it again: The Amazing Race is the most rocking reality show ever!
It wasn't the ending I would've chosen, but well.
Once upon a time Ibu Yosi said this. I must beg to differ. To me, reality shows are actually a lot closer to our so-called reality. For example, very seldom do well liked people win. Just like the real life. Not so often do guys with integrity come up on top. Just like the real life. It is a rarity that the most deserving -- in real-life sense -- ones triumph. Just like the real life.
