A Is for Ain't Luck a Witch?

Here's some old school blogger's statement for you: I miss blogging.

Well, just to clarify, that means a statement that may perfectly well have been written by some old school blogger. And by that, I mean a blogger from half a decade back. And by explaining this, I just proved that you should never, ever explain what you have intended to be witty, 'cause it just makes it, well, not witty.

Not that... oh well, whatever.

Aaanyway. Hello, World. How's it going?

Let's see. My fav team was humbled and humiliated and finally Philiminated. Can't say I'm not bitter, judging that -- once again -- the witch that is luck played a significant part in the outcome. Then again, can't say they didn't deserve it, either, as it was a pretty poorly executed leg.

Don't kill me for this, but I'm now rooting for Eric and Danielle. Nope, kid you not.

Is it just me or Gmail and Yahoo! Groups are having some kind of standoff? Posts show up on the site, but not in my inbox. Even those subscription requests. Perhaps Y! took it into their own hands to protect us from those spammers.

And by spammers, I mean Indo-Sing people.

Kidding, of course. See, I give you a wink for added assurance.

You know, I kinda like how they gave us that Moderator Central. That was brilliant, you guys. Can't stop complaining, can you? Fine, we'll give you an official forum to vent. A totally meaningless forum, yes. But an official forum nonetheless. Makes you feel important while not necessarily heard. Maybe I should give something similar to those, uh, people.

On the topic of mailing lists; when you encourage people to use Gmail for lists because you believe it helps manage conversations better? Great. When you bad mouth those who don't want to convert? Uncool.

Same goes for Linux versus Windows, Multiply versus Blogger, WP versus MT, and CSS versus HTML tables. I'm just saying.

And because it can't be said enough: I think the priest today totally misread the Gospel. It was so funny how people were looking at one another and like, dude, that's got to be the longest Gospel reading ever! Even the altar boy couldn't contain his grin.

Oh, BTW, I used the term altar boy loosely. Because the boy is, like, black and six foot four and so would totally destroy me in a one-on-one basketball game.

Speaking of which. Kobe. Sixty-five points. Eight of twelve trey percentage. That's seventy-five percent from behind the three-point line! I don't care what people say, from now on, any discussion on greatness should include a reference to #24.

Here's something you don't see at Starbucks everyday: a man with a frap staring intently at his laptop screen. Err, how is that not something you see at Starbucks everyday? Because on his screen he had Eclipse. But wait. Just at the next table, another man was in full concentration over his own laptop -- and he had JDeveloper on his screen! Wait, wait. A few tables down, two other guys were busy swapping thumb drives. Not exchanging illegal MP3s -- because, well, it's illegal, you know -- but data for the .NET application they were working on. Oh yeah, I knew thanks to the unmistakable Visual Studio interface.

For milkshake -- or mocha frappuccino in this case -- you guys, it's Sunday afternoon! In Orchard! Do something more life-enriching, will ya? Like WoW or origami or boobs ogling.

I don't know what you make of that, but if I were you, I'd start giving more to charity because the end may not be too far away now.

In case you haven't guessed, that guy with Eclipse was me, of course.

And yes, it did bother me that I knew JDeveloper and Visual Studio UIs by sight right away.

All right, enough randomness to last until April comes. Just remember that there's life beyond work.

And that you'd be better off without instance or static variables in your Action classes.

And PHP versus Java and Inglish versus Bahasa Indonesia. I'm still just saying.

How did #24 spend two nights removed from a sixty-five-point performance? How 'bout a half-century? This guy is simply. The. Best. Baller. On the planet. Why can't he be our president?
