Was about to call it Year in Review, but thanks to SportsCenter, I am now officially sick of that title. Another rerun on my TV and I will be as focused on coaching and training as Rafa.
So, 2007 is leaving us tonight. Another fast year for me; it seems like only days have passed since our 2007 countdown at The Pandas'. Yet, looking back now, I feel the virtual rapidness is well justified, given the many events that have taken place in my personal life.
Let's see now. January whisked by, in a way setting the trend for the rest of the months. The company had performed well and so everyone was happy in anticipation of a raise and bonuses. Our project was still manageable and people were still in high spirit.
February and March kinda came and went. Excitement -- in the positive sense, at least -- started to dwindle, what with the ever uncertain state of the project. Nonetheless, I still found time to levitate and KB24 went on (yet) a(nother) roll, reaching at least the 50-point mark in four consecutive games. If that's not a quality we look for in a presidential candidate, then I don't know what is.
In April, we climbed up a mountain and returned happy men. Two of us were to become fathers in two months' time and the third will join them in fatherhood this coming year. As for the fourth member of the fellowship, well, in May he found the third Spidey movie installment not quite satisfactory and in June he decided to be a drama king, resigned, and went home. Oh, and he also managed to fall out of a relationship. Looking back now, I am 100 percent content that it has been for the greater good.
Went on a heartbreak road trip in July, during which we paid our founding father a visit. Saw our fav author off to live her dreams and said yes to a job offer that had me leave our magical city and return to the not-so-magical-but-a-lot-more orderly Lion City in August -- receiving a social sanction as a result.
In September, I moved out of The Pandas' and into my new home. In the same month, I started my training program -- inaccurately.
Facebook found me a long-lost friend and I rubbed shoulders with ostriches in Malaysia, before going to Korea for the first time in my life. All in the month of October. Just days later, in November, we took off for the native land of kangaroos and koalas -- and that was the answer of that half-hearted quiz. That's right, three countries -- four if you count this city -- in mere days. But wait, it's gonna get even better.
'Cause in December, Mr. Panda and I backpacked to Cambodia. Oh, c'mon, don't look at me like that. I was simply making up for the time lost due to work (over)commitment in the past. And collecting pins, of course.
By nature, December is always an eventful month. No exception this year, either. In addition to visiting endless temples, I also ran my (what I hope to be annual) half-marathon, received some flowers, and performed in not one, not two, but three gigs.
Well, it wasn't that big of a deal, really, but what can I say, blogging is a gay art.
And there you go, in another half-day 2007 will be gone. Here's for 2008. May it bring more joy, more realized dreams, more prosperity, more -- this is a long shot, I know, but what the heck -- peace and unity on earth, and a speedy recovery to our friend, who broke her leg yesterday.
Happy New Year!
