Nah, not nine -- although it proves that of the 10 kinds of people, you belong to the binary-literate kind.

In fact, it's 10 and 1. No, not two and one -- although it proves that you belong to the persistent binary-literate kind. It's ten and one.

As in, the tenth anniversary of yours truly leaving uni and the first of sticking with the current company. That's right, August 14 is my double-anniversary.

Ten years ago I lost most of my hair in celebration of having finally completed my spell in our beloved faculty. As a student, that is. I stayed on for another three months as an employee and hung about as the campus ghost slightly longer -- until it was time to leave for this lion city and be -- guess what -- a student again.

Whoa, ten years! Has it really been that long? It apparently has.

And what have I accomplished in these past ten years? Well, other than losing more hair? Hmm, let's just say I'm pretty satisfied with who and where I am.

Oh, I also own this property now:

(Thanks to Google SketchUp and its Web Exporter. Go ahead, download 'em; they're free.)

My current job isn't too bad, either. Could be better, of course -- everything could always be better -- but it could also be worse, so hey, not complaining here. I should probably get everyone ice cream or something in a few hours' time.

So yeah, happy double-anniversary to me. Thank you, thank you. Many happy returns to Bapak Made, too.

This entry should end here, really, but we can't have the Olympic Games without blogging about it, can we? And so, before I leave for bed -- better not be late on your anniversary -- here are some random observations thus far:

♠ If there's any Dream Team in the current Games, it's the USA women's basketball team. Seriously, allowing just one field goal in the entire quarter?

♠ Coincidentally, Sue Bird is hot.

♠ So is Candace Parker.

♠ So are the entire Polish women's volleyball team.

♠ Michael Fred Phelps isn't human. At least as far as water is concerned. Who says I don't watch the men's games?

♠ Tyson may eventually take the gold, but wouldn't "The New GOAT Is Gay" be the most politically incorrect headline ever?

♠ Chinese women are strong. Really strong.

♠ And Sue Bird is really hot.
